Why Chili & Chilling

We at the Rotary Club of Coral Gables are excited to present our first annual chili cook-off. The purpose of the event is twofold.   First, it’s our way of thanking our community in its support of our programs. We are extremely grateful.   Second, it provides us an opportunity to raise funds for our charitable foundation, all of which will go right back into our community in the form of civic and charitable grants.

Since our club was chartered in 1946, we have called Coral Gables our home. Some of our current members are second and third generation Coral Gables Rotarians from the same family. Over the years, Coral Gables Mayors, City Commissioners, City Managers, and Police and Fire Department Chiefs have graced our membership rolls. We have always enjoyed a great relationship with our city government. We are fortunate to be located in such a wonderful community and we don’t take that for granted.

Then and Now

Over the past three years alone, our foundation has made grants totaling nearly $120,000 to more than 60 local charities and college scholarships to deserving graduates of Coral Gables Senior High School. We hope to continue our philanthropic efforts and have fun in the process.

We are confident that this event will continue to foster the warm relationship we enjoy with our city leaders and neighbors, while also raising funds that will ultimately go back into our community.

We thank you for your interest in our Chili Cook-off and hope that you enjoy a wonderful afternoon with us on February 26, 2017.
